Gave and Took Press was founded by artists Leannej and My Name Is Scot. Inspired by graffiti on a Planet Hollywood sign and other injustices both social and aesthetic, Gave and Took Press publishes arty, political and (sometimes) funny books.

Gave and Took press works and lives on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
